2020 was an unprecedented year. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused permanent scars on society and the global workforce, especially for working women. One in four are contemplating leaving the workforce or will take a step down in their careers as a direct result of the pandemic, according to the annual Women in the Workplace study. These numbers come at time when women in leadership is soaring and we celebrate the first female vice president of the United States of America.
To mark the new year, five local female leaders share words of inspiration and provide honest answers about how the pandemic has affected them both professionally and personally. They say there is still hope, despite the grim predictions of a post-pandemic workforce and give us hope for a prosperous future.
